Lower Earley Weather News

August 2007

Not really Lower Earley weather news, but we visited Cuba for two weeks during August. The weather was hot and humid, rain storms most nights, only one during the day. Meteorologically uneventful, although category 5 hurricane 'Dean' was causing havoc in the Caribbean as we left.

The river Loddon burst it's banks two days after the heavy rain, flooding the local Showcase Cinema, Best Western Moat Hotel, George Pub and Winnersh Garden Centre. A tractor rescued guests from the hotel, including a wedding party. Pictures below taken from my mobile phone show the extent of the flooding.
